Br Charles Barry
Br Charles Barry 60 Years

Congratulations to our Brother Charles Barry, who celebrated his Diamond Jubilee, (60 years), as a Patrician Brother!

In August 1955, Brother Charles joined the Patrician Brothers in Ireland.  At the tender age of 21, he was asked to leave his home and family to come to Australia to teach at Patrician Brothers Fairfield, where he was appointed Principal after 5 years.

In 1968, Brother Charles joined a group of 21 volunteers who established the Patrician story in Papua New Guinea, clearing the land, building schools and educating the grateful students and building communities.

As we celebrated with Brother Charles on Friday 14 August with Brothers, ex staff and students, current staff and students and members of the Delany community, there were some amazing stories shared.  It was wonderful to have Mass led by Bishop Terry Brady, who also shared some of his experiences with Brother Charles.  Brother Phil Mulhall took us back decade by decade in his recount of a Patrician life, according to Brother Charles.

We have been blessed to have Brother Charles with us at Delany College for 20 years now, as a teacher, and now Counsellor.  He is a man of many talents and the students and staff appreciate his wisdom, caring and humble lead.

๐ŸŒŸ Max Potential Project Spotlight! ๐ŸŒŸ The Max Potential Program empowers students to grow as young leaders by setting personal and community goals. Through coaching and workshops, participants develop confidence, communication, and leadership skills โ€” all while creating projects that make a real difference in their local community. ๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to Sienna and Rylan, who proudly represented Delany College in this yearโ€™s Max Potential Program! ๐Ÿ’ซ Siennaโ€™s project, โ€œUnity Week,โ€ focused on strengthening community connections and reducing loneliness through creativity and service โ€” including food donations, handmade bracelets, and heartfelt cards for those in need. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Rylanโ€™s project built on his experience in the Top Blokes Program, featuring guest speaker Jason Blyth, who inspired students to find purpose and choose their own path through faith. Both students have demonstrated outstanding leadership, compassion, and commitment โ€” truly embodying our Delany values of love, service, and hope. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’› #DelanyCollege #StudentLeadership #CommunitySpirit #DelanyValues #inspiringchange #MaxPotential #MaxPotentialAustralia @jason.p.blyth
