Each year the Board of Studies, Teaching and Education Standards NSW and the Department of Education present ENCORE, a program of outstanding performances and compositions by students from the Higher School Certificate Music examinations, which is held annually at the Sydney Opera House. Students have to be nominated by the HSC examiners to present at this concert.

Hahano was nominated for his performances as part of the HSC Music 1 course which he completed. In order to accept the nomination Hahano had to submit a DVD recording of his full performance for consideration. This was completed last Friday with assistance from CAPTIVATE and LEX. If his submission is successful he will get the opportunity to perform on the Sydney Opera House stage early next year. Simply being nominated is a fantastic achievement and reflects the high quality of performance that Hahano demonstrated in his exam.
