Congratulations to our Brother Charles Barry, who celebrated his Diamond Jubilee, (60 years), as a Patrician Brother!
In August 1955, Brother Charles joined the Patrician Brothers in Ireland. At the tender age of 21, he was asked to leave his home and family to come to Australia to teach at Patrician Brothers Fairfield, where he was appointed Principal after 5 years.
In 1968, Brother Charles joined a group of 21 volunteers who established the Patrician story in Papua New Guinea, clearing the land, building schools and educating the grateful students and building communities.
As we celebrated with Brother Charles on Friday 14 August with Brothers,
We have been blessed to have Brother Charles with us at Delany College for 20 years now, as a teacher, and now Counsellor. He is a man of many talents and the students and staff appreciate his wisdom, caring and humble lead.

๐ Max Potential Project Spotlight! ๐ The Max Potential Program empowers students to grow as young leaders by setting personal and community goals. Through coaching and workshops, participants develop confidence, communication, and leadership skills โ all while creating projects that make a real difference in their local community. ๐ Congratulations to Sienna and Rylan, who proudly represented Delany College in this yearโs Max Potential Program! ๐ซ Siennaโs project, โUnity Week,โ focused on strengthening community connections and reducing loneliness through creativity and service โ including food donations, handmade bracelets, and heartfelt cards for those in need. ๐ฌ Rylanโs project built on his experience in the Top Blokes Program, featuring guest speaker Jason Blyth, who inspired students to find purpose and choose their own path through faith. Our Stage 5 and Year 11 Visual Arts students braved the Bondi heat to immerse themselves in the world of contemporary sculpture at Sculpture by the Sea! From monumental site-specific installations to coastal masterpieces, they absorbed every ounce of artistic inspiration (and sunshine ๐ ). ๐โจ Year 12 English โ Learning Beyond the Classroom Throughout the HSC English course, our Year 12 students have taken part in a range of inspiring excursions that brought their studies to life and boosted their exam prep. ๐ญ At the Richard III Symposium at the Seymour Centre, students explored Module A in depth and experienced the power of Shakespeare live on stage. ๐ They sharpened their skills at the English Teachers Associationโs HSC Paper 2 Day โ diving into Modules A, B & C alongside students from across NSW. โ๏ธ A creative writing workshop with author Will Kostakis provided fresh ideas and practical strategies for writing imaginative responses. ๐ฌ And to top it off, English Advanced students attended a gripping performance of 1984, enriching their understanding of the Common Module text. โจ Year 11 English students have had an inspiring year full of creative and thought-provoking experiences! ๐จ At the Art Gallery of NSW, the Rites of When exhibition showed how different art forms come together to create powerful stories, insights that helped students nail their Multimodal Presentation assessment. ๐ญ English Advanced students brought Shakespeareโs Othello to life with a live performance at Riverside Theatre, deepening their understanding of the text. โ๏ธ A creative writing workshop with author Will Kostakis sparked fresh ideas and practical tips for imaginative storytelling. ๐ถ To wrap up the year, students enjoyed A Very Old Man with Enormous Wingsโa magical realist performance blending music, puppetry and live video projection that connected beautifully with their HSC Common Module studies.
