Our Stage 5 and Year 11 Visual Arts students braved the Bondi heat to immerse themselves in the world of contemporary sculpture at Sculpture by the Sea! From monumental site-specific installations to coastal masterpieces, they absorbed every ounce of artistic inspiration (and sunshine π ). Keep shining bright! π YEAR 8: π€© Bernadette Georges: Consistently applies herself, actively seeks ways to improve, takes feedback positively, and brings a positive attitude to every lesson. π€© Yusha Sharhan: Demonstrates pride and persistence in his learning, shows resilience when faced with challenges, and is always willing to greet staff warmly. π€© Kayi Salicioglu-Achi: Frequently takes initiative without prompting, supporting both classroom and school routines. Displays maturity and insight beyond typical expectations for age. π€© Kesaia Sikulu: Shows generous compassion toward her teachers, actively participates in practical lessons, and presents her work thoughtfully. π€© Harsimar Singh Phagura: Always shows respect, wears his uniform with pride, and contributes purposefully in class. YEAR 7: π€© Christabel Chiezuworom Ibeh: Demonstrates consistent effort in class, supports her peers in debating and continually pushes herself to extend her learning beyond expectations. π€© Mustafa Niazy: Consistently shows initiative by helping with tasks without being asked. π€© Tristan Lancaster: Quietly engaged with learning new instruments in music and shows persistence and focus as he develops new skills across all subjects π€© Alakor Ngor: Demonstrates consistent focus, engagement and dedication in class, showing maturity and willingness to improve through honest reflection on her learning. π€© Nattakorn Choettrakun: Carries himself with respect and pride, stays focused, and works diligently. πβ¨ Year 12 English β Learning Beyond the Classroom Throughout the HSC English course, our Year 12 students have taken part in a range of inspiring excursions that brought their studies to life and boosted their exam prep. π At the Richard III Symposium at the Seymour Centre, students explored Module A in depth and experienced the power of Shakespeare live on stage. π They sharpened their skills at the English Teachers Associationβs HSC Paper 2 Day β diving into Modules A, B & C alongside students from across NSW. βοΈ A creative writing workshop with author Will Kostakis provided fresh ideas and practical strategies for writing imaginative responses. π¬ And to top it off, English Advanced students attended a gripping performance of 1984, enriching their understanding of the Common Module text. β¨ Year 11 English students have had an inspiring year full of creative and thought-provoking experiences! π¨ At the Art Gallery of NSW, the Rites of When exhibition showed how different art forms come together to create powerful stories, insights that helped students nail their Multimodal Presentation assessment. π English Advanced students brought Shakespeareβs Othello to life with a live performance at Riverside Theatre, deepening their understanding of the text. βοΈ A creative writing workshop with author Will Kostakis sparked fresh ideas and practical tips for imaginative storytelling. πΆ To wrap up the year, students enjoyed A Very Old Man with Enormous Wingsβa magical realist performance blending music, puppetry and live video projection that connected beautifully with their HSC Common Module studies.
