Kevis, Roni, Dominic, Masoud, Nishit, Kevin and Adam of Year 9 were hard at work weeding and pruning, giving the College’s gardening area some much needed TLC.
The students have so far done a fantastic job clearing out a lot of overgrown weeds who have overstayed their welcome. We hope to get some herbs, vegetables and fruits planted these upcoming weeks to have some delicious edibles ready for harvesting around spring time and summer.
If you have any gardening/landscaping equipment and tools, plants or cuttings that are no longer needed, we’re to put them into good use as we vamp up Delany’s garden spots. Your help and donations are much appreciated!

๐โจ Year 12 English โ Learning Beyond the Classroom Throughout the HSC English course, our Year 12 students have taken part in a range of inspiring excursions that brought their studies to life and boosted their exam prep. ๐ญ At the Richard III Symposium at the Seymour Centre, students explored Module A in depth and experienced the power of Shakespeare live on stage. ๐ They sharpened their skills at the English Teachers Associationโs HSC Paper 2 Day โ diving into Modules A, B & C alongside students from across NSW. โ๏ธ A creative writing workshop with author Will Kostakis provided fresh ideas and practical strategies for writing imaginative responses. ๐ฌ And to top it off, English Advanced students attended a gripping performance of 1984, enriching their understanding of the Common Module text. โจ Year 11 English students have had an inspiring year full of creative and thought-provoking experiences! ๐จ At the Art Gallery of NSW, the Rites of When exhibition showed how different art forms come together to create powerful stories, insights that helped students nail their Multimodal Presentation assessment. ๐ญ English Advanced students brought Shakespeareโs Othello to life with a live performance at Riverside Theatre, deepening their understanding of the text. โ๏ธ A creative writing workshop with author Will Kostakis sparked fresh ideas and practical tips for imaginative storytelling. ๐ถ To wrap up the year, students enjoyed A Very Old Man with Enormous Wingsโa magical realist performance blending music, puppetry and live video projection that connected beautifully with their HSC Common Module studies. What a show! ๐ญ The 2025 CAPTIVATE Immersion Program Emu Wars brought together 48 students from 14 secondary schools across the diocese for an unforgettable performance at The Joan, Penrith. Based on the 1932 'civil war' between the Australian Army and a flock of emus in the Campion District of Western Australia, it has gone down as one of the most comical events in Australian Peacetime History. Shoutout to Delany Collegeโs own Jack Fitzpatrick (Yr 12) and Aeva Mendez (Yr 8), who nailed a tough audition, then dedicated their Winter Holidays to rehearsals before taking the stage. Bravo! ๐๐ฆ Students from the various performing arts - dance, drama and music - were required to adapt their skills across all three areas to present a performance which told the story of the Emu Wars. Two performances were held, a school matinee on the afternoon of Thursday 24 July, followed by a public performance on the same evening. Jack and Aeva not only highlighted their own personal skills in the performing arts, but also integrated with the other performers to present a truly inspiring and professional performance, developed and rehearsed in a little over ten days.
