Delany's Year 8 students have been raising awareness and fundraising for the R U Ok? day foundation. They've have been working in teams, and within each team have come up with some different activities to help raise awareness of mental health among the Delany College community.
R U Ok? day is not just a day where we take the time to ask someone ‘are you okay?’ ; it is really the beginning of an ongoing commitment to look out for each other.

πΊ Today marks the 109th year since the Gallipoli landing and represents the ultimate sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand servicemen in the face of war. Ms Sweeney, Leader of Learning HSIE laying a wreath at the Monument for Remembrance at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra on behalf of Delany College staff and students after the Dawn Service. It is a day of reflection to be grateful for the freedom and lifestyle these sacrifices have afforded our nation and continue to protect. Band students from Delany College and Holy Trinity Primary School came together for a workshop with Mrs K. Jiear, from CAPTIVATE. The Delany Band Students workshopped a new piece of music and then merged with the Holy Trinity Primary School Band students to rehearse and perform Power Rock. πΊπΊπΊ β―ββ― music to our ears β―ββ― ππ

βFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting lifeβ πβοΈ Today the Delany community commemorated Holy week, which celebrates the life and death of our Saviour Jesus Christ β€οΈ Our amazing students retold the Passion narrative through the Stations of the Cross. They showed how Jesus was able to absorb all the violence and transform it and return it as love and forgiveness. This Easter Sunday as we celebrate the risen Lord may we recognise the amazing grace gifted to us by our Godπ

Hundreds of Western Sydney students from Years 9 to 12 and some who recently graduated, joined teachers, parents, carers, and educators at St Patrickβs Cathedral, Parramatta for the Beyond School, What's Next? Careers Expo hosted by Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD).

Big shout out to Stella Fitzpatrick, Alex Zeitoun and Brandon Daniels who represented Delany College in the PDSSSC Parramatta Zone Swimming Carnival at Sydney Olympic Swimming Centre πββοΈπββοΈ Both Stella Fitzpatrick and Alex Zeitoun swam well and achieved personal bests in their respective swimming events. Brandon Daniels competed in four events and was awarded a bronze medal in the Under 12s 50 metres butterfly final and a silver medal in the 100 meters freestyle π π π Congratulations on a great effort!!! ππ»ππ»ππ»

A fun day out was has at the girls basketball gala day on Friday βΉπ½ββοΈπ Although we weren't able to secure a win, the girls worked impressively as a team to get as many points as possible onto the scoreboard. These students represented our school with Pride, Passion and Persistence and displayed excellent leadership qualities. We are extremely proud of each of them ππ€©

The 2024 Delany College Swimming Carnivalππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ was a fantastic day! The swimming, cheering, fancy dress and House spirit was outstanding. The atmosphere was great and it was so good to see all of the students so involved in all of the activities all day.
