Ash Wednesday mass at St Canice's Primary, Katoomba


Schools across the Diocese of Parramatta have observed Ash Wednesday today with liturgies and mass services marking the beginning of Lent.

Students at St Patrick’s Primary School, Blacktown welcomed parents and friends to share liturgy led by Parish Priest Fr Dénes Lédeczi. 

The school community of St Canice’s Primary, Katoomba joined students and staff for mass celebrated by Fr Ted Tyler.

Parish Priest Fr Cliff D’souza celebrated Ash Wednesday mass at Delany College, Granville and encouraged students to think of those in need during the season of Lent.

In the lead up to Easter, students are encouraged to donate funds and participate in fundraising initiatives to support Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. The theme for 2015 is ‘Food for Life’ highlighting global food issues and seeking to empower the world’s poorest people to establish sustainable food sources.
